
ACTING SR. FINANCIAL ANALYST – REVENUE, 12 Month Contract
PLASP Child Care Services is a charitable organization operating on a not-for-profit basis, providing high quality early learning and child care, for children up to 12 years of age. PLASP operates programs in more than 240 schools providing before and after school care. PLASP also operates over 38 full-day early learning and child care centres and six EarlyON locations for children from 0 – 6 years.

The Acting Senior Financial Analyst – Revenue, reports directly to the Controller and assumes a crucial role in preparing budgets and financial statements for review and analysis.
THE POSITION INVOLVES…
The successful candidate will provide a full range of duties, including:
- This role is responsible for financial analysis, forecasting, compliance and reporting of all grant funded revenue streams with particular focus on government funding.
- Prepares first draft of monthly financial statements required by management and the board for review by the Controller and V.P. Financial Management, Planning and Analysis
- Works with managers to prepare annual budgets and mid-year forecast.
- Maintain related budgetary systems and processes
- Prepares City of Toronto and proposal budgets
- Completes ad hoc analysis requested by Controller and V.P. Financial Management, Planning and Analysis
- Prepares Statement of Operations by program, and consolidated, and Balance Sheet each month
- Prepares and analyzes comparisons of actual to budget/forecast and follow-up on large variances and distributes to Managers
- Completes individual school financials at year end
- Prepares first draft of annual budget and mid-year forecast for review by Controller
- Works with the Controller and V.P. Financial Management, Planning and Analysis to prepare the budget and forecast process and timelines
- Completes monthly financial analysis of revenues and expenses including wages and benefits and reports to Controller
THE PREFERRED CANDIDATE WILL HAVE…
- Bachelor Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CPA Designation preferred
- 5 years related experience
- Knowledge of NAV and CRM would be preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Proven analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Self-motivated, flexible and cooperative
- Awareness of the need for and respect of confidentiality
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Proven ability to work with staff members at all levels and act as a team member
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
